• Saint Louis knocked off Davidson 6-5 Friday evening in a battle of the top two Atlantic 10 Conference teams in the standings at Billiken Sports Center in St. Louis, Mo.
• The Billikens improved to 22-17 on the season and 9-4 in league play, while Davidson went to 31-9, 10-3.
SCORING
• Cody Jansen launched an opposite-field home run in the fourth to give SLU a 2-0 lead.
• Cole Smith posted a two-RBI single in the fifth for the Billikens.
• The Wildcats tallied two in the sixth.
• SLU answered with two runs of its own in the sixth, scoring on a Matt Turino sacrifice fly and a Cam Redding RBI groundout.
• Davidson pulled within one with three runs in the seventh.

• Logan Schmitt picked up his seventh win on the season (7-1), throwing 6.0 innings and allowing just two runs on five hits and striking out four.

• Turino went 2-4 with one run and an RBI and also made a spectacular diving catch in right-center field with two outs and two runners on in a one-run game in the eighth.
