THE BASICS
•Four Saint Louis players enjoyed multi-RBI games and
Chloe Wendling pitched four strong innings as the Billikens defeated Rhode Island 12-2 in five innings Sunday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
•SLU, which swept the three-game Atlantic 10 Conference series, improved to 14-15 overall and 6-2 in league play. Rhode Island fell to 5-22, 1-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•Rhode Island scored two unearned runs in the top of the first inning.
•Saint Louis answered immediately with five tallies in its half of the first.
Gabbie Kowalik hit her team-leading sixth home run of the season, a two-run blast, to start the scoring.
Cami Newbanks delivered a two-run double, and
Jane Kaniecki's RBI single made it 5-2.
•In a three-run second inning,
Sadie Wise doubled in a run,
Jocelyn Abbott produced an RBI single and
Natalie Sullivan drew a bases-loaded walk.
•The Billikens plated four runs in the third. Kowalik scored on a wild pitch, Kaniecki walked with the bases loaded, and Abbott and
Kendall Johnson recorded consecutive sacrifice flies.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Wise added another double and a single for a 3-for-4 day.
•Wendling, who struck out five, notched her 11th victory. After surrendering three hits and a walk in the first inning, she allowed just three more hits the rest of the way.
•
Allie Herron doubled, and Johnson collected a single.
•
Taylor Hochman pitched a scoreless fifth inning with a strikeout.
