NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For a second consecutive season, Saint Louis University sophomore Ryota Fukushima has been selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference second team by a vote of the league's head coaches, the A-10 office announced Tuesday.
 
Fukushima, SLU's No. 2 singles player, led the Billikens in total singles wins (12) and tied for the team lead in dual-match singles wins (six) this season. The six dual-match victories at No. 2 were the most by a Billiken at any singles position.
 
In doubles, Fukushima posted a team-high 13 total wins and tied for the most dual-match wins (seven). He played at least four dual matches at all three positions.
 
Fukushima was named A-10 Player of the Week April 26.
 
Fukushima's fall competition was highlighted by a win in the singles main draw at the ITA Central Regional. He finished third in Flight 2 singles at the River Forest Collegiate Invitational and placed second in Flight 2 doubles at River Forest and the Redbird Invitational.
