Saint Louis 2022 Season Prospectus
• Saint Louis field hockey opens its 2022 season this weekend with matches against Central Michigan and Michigan State at Ralph Young Field in East Lansing, Mich.
• Sunday's contest against the Spartans will be streamed to Big Ten Plus.
• Third-year head coach Zoe Adkins returns 13 student-athletes from last season's squad, including six starters. 10 newcomers join the team, including eight freshmen and two transfers.
• Senior Demi Sahuleka, the team's leading scorer as season ago, returns for her third year with the Billikens. Last season she posted 13 points (4G, 5A).
• Including Sahuleka, SLU brings back five of the top six point leaders from the 2021 team. Lauren Pendergast and Josefina Perez each recorded eight points, while Jenna Klaers registered five.
• Goalkeeper Sasha Sander enters her fifth season ranked ninth at SLU with 250 career saves. She's collected six wins as a Billiken and tallied one shutout a season ago. She's five save away from moving into seventh all-time for the Billikens.
• Central Michigan went 4-13 last year, while Michigan State finished 7-8.
