• Freshman Kayla Richardson registered a team-high 14 kills and led Saint Louis to a five-set win over Rhode Island Saturday afternoon at Keaney Gymnasium in Kingston, R.I.
• The Billikens improved to 2-0 in Atlantic 10 Conference play and 10-4 overall on the season, while URI dipped to 0-2, 4-11.
• Claire Wagner posted six of her match-best 23 kills in a 25-20 set one victory for the Rams.
• The Billikens hit for a .424 attack percentage in set two, behind 12 assists from Kate Aupperle and five kills by Richardson, and won the frame 25-17.
• URI went up 2-1 in the match with a 25-13 win in the third set.
• With the help of five Emily Henken kills, SLU took set four 25-17.
• After a 5-5 score to begin the final game, SLU used an 8-1 run to pull ahead 13-6 and take the frame 15-9.
