FIVE FACTS ABOUT SLU

1 // Yuri Collins continues to hold the overwhelming lead in the NCAA in assists (185) and assists per game (10.9). He is also the only player in the NCAA averaging a points/assists double-double as he contributes 12.0 ppg, second on the Billikens. Collins is looking to become the fifth player in NCAA history to finish the year with a points/assist double-double. One of the others was Avery Johnson (Southern, 1987-88), who is serving as an analyst for the game on CBS Sports Network.

2 // Javonte Perkins is coming off a season-high 27 points in the win at George Washington, which included 16 points in the second half. He has played 30+ minutes in back-to-back games for the first time this season.

3 // Javon Pickett registered a career-best 24 points in the win at George Washington thanks in part to a 9-of-11 performance from the stripe that helped seal the win. He is an 82.8 percent shooter from the FT line this year, 8th in the A-10.

4 // Gibson Jimerson drained a pair of 3-pointers in the game at GW to move to sixth all-time with 195 career 3s. He is five away from reaching Kwamain Mitchell in fifth.

5 // Saint Louis leads the A-10 in scoring offense (76.6 ppg), rebounds per game (39.8), assists per game (16.6) and assist/turnover ratio (1.40).

ABOUT LOYOLA CHICAGO

The Loyola Chicago Ramblers are 6-11 overall and 0-5 in Atlantic 10 Conference play. The Ramblers had won four of five, including a quality win against Clemson, but followed that with a six-game losing skid.

This is LUC's first season in the A-10 after spending the previous nine seasons as members of the Missouri Valley Conference.

Phillip Alston leads the Ramblers with 14.5 ppg and 5.9 rpg. Braden Norris turns in 10.6 ppg and leads LUC in 3-pointers made (34), assists (70) and steals (21). Ben Schwieger and Marquise Kennedy are averaging 9.8 ppg and 9.7 ppg, respectively.

As a team, the Ramblers post a .472 FG percentage, second in the A-10.

Drew Valentine is in his second season at Loyola Chicago. He has been on the staff of two programs that have made a Final Four – with Loyola Chicago as an assistant coach in 2018, and with Michigan State as a graduate assistant in 2015.

SERIES HISTORY

Loyola Chicago leads the all-time series 24-22. While this is the first time the two teams are meeting as members of the A-10, the series goes way back. The squads first played more than 100 years ago in the 1921-22 season.

From 1982 to 1991, the Billikens and Ramblers played twice a year (sometimes three with a game in the conference tourney) when the programs were members of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference. The series ended up tied 9-9 in MCC regular-season games.

Perhaps one of the greatest games ever by a Billiken occurred between the Billikens and Ramblers in Chicago at Rosemont Horizon (now Allstate Arena) on March 1, 1990. Billiken great Anthony Bonner scored 45 points – which still stands as the SLU single-game record to this day – and snagged 20 rebounds as the Billikens beat Loyola Chicago 102-86 in overtime. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch noted that Bonner had quipped: "When you come to Michal Jordan's town, you get the fever." Bonner would go on to play six years in the NBA.
