GAME NOTES: Saint Louis | George Mason
Seeking a second straight victory, the Saint Louis Billikens (7-16, 3-5 A-10) begin the second half of their Atlantic 10 Conference schedule Wednesday, Feb. 1, vs. George Mason (11-11, 4-5 A-10) at Chaifetz Arena.

Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on ESPN+ with Colin Suhre on the call.

Wednesday's contest is the Billikens' annual Education Day game. Several thousand students from greater St. Louis will be in attendance.

Saint Louis leads the series with George Mason 8-4, including a 4-1 ledger at Chaifetz Arena. The teams split two games last season, with the Billikens winning 58-35 in regular-season action in Fairfax, Va., and the Patriots prevailing 65-50 in an A-10 Championship first-round matchup. Julia Martinez averaged 12.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals in the two contests, while Brooke Flowers turned in 9.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 7.5 blocks per game.

Kyla McMakin scored 33 points, Brooke Flowers (23 points, 10 rebounds) and Julia Martinez (career-high 13 assists, 12 rebounds) had double-doubles, and Peyton Kennedy tallied 17 points off the bench as Saint Louis knocked off Fordham 87-84 last Saturday. Meanwhile, George Mason snapped a two-game skid with a 62-58 home victory in overtime over Davidson.

KEY STORYLINES
•The Fordham game marked the second time in the last three contests that two Billikens posted a double-double as Brooke Flowers and Julia Martinez also accomplished the feat at Duquesne. Martinez now has two different double-double combos this year – points/rebounds and assists/rebounds.
•SLU's 75.3 scoring average in the last four contests is its best four-game stretch of the season.
•Saint Louis shot a solid 47.1 percent vs. Fordham. The Billikens' .489 shooting mark over the last two outings is their best success rate in back-to-back conference games this season.
•Brooke Flowers is 30-of-46 (.652) from the field over the last four games, lifting her season mark to .560. That would lead the A-10 if she had enough made field goals (she is three short).
•Peyton Kennedy is 19-of-33 (.576) from the field over her last six games.
•Kyla McMakin's 33-point effort vs. Fordham was her fourth total of 30 or more points this season.
•Brooke Flowers is the nation's No. 2 shot-blocker with 3.7 per game. With 85 blocks this year, Flowers needs just six to break the school record of 90. She has averaged 10.4 rebounds, including 4.6 on the offensive glass, in the last five games.
•Julia Martinez leads the A-10 and is fifth in the nation in steals per game (3.35), and she is second in the league and 18th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (3.9). Martinez is averaging 10.1 total rebounds and 5.3 offensive caroms in the last nine games.
