CHICAGO – Finishing off its three-match road swing at Loyola Chicago Tuesday night, the Saint Louis University volleyball team dropped its second contest of the season to the Ramblers, 3-0.

Loyola (12-11, 10-2 A-10) came out firing on all cylinders in the mid-week match, hitting .324 in the first set while compiling 16 kills. The Billikens (11-13, 4-8 A-10)Â could not keep up with the Atlantic 10 Conference's second-place team, and dropped set one, 25-15.Â

In set two, a kill from
Delaney Rice put the Billikens up, 11-9, but Loyola Chicago fought back, taking back the lead midway through the match. The Ramblers went on to win the race to 25 and take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Billikens came out strong in set three, taking a 6-3 lead early. SLU hit .324 in the night's final set while while Rice produced a six-kill effort. But the Ramblers took back the lead off several timely scoring runs, winning the third set, 25-23, and taking the match.Â

Rice's 10 kills led the Billikens while
Kayla Richardson added nine and
Addie Lyon tallied 24 assists and eight digs.Â

SLU returns home this weekend to host Rhode Island on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The Billikens' Saturday match against the Rams is Alumni Day and will begin at 2 p.m. while the weekend's final contest will begin at 12 p.m. Sunday.
