LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Saint Louis swimming and diving went 2-1 in a meet with Little Rock and Henderson State on Saturday.
The SLU men defeated Henderson State 174-103, while the Billiken women were 220-45 winners over the Reddies. Little Rock claimed a 163.50-111.50 victory in the women's meet.
Franklin Liu,
Jeddrick Gamilla and
Ben Mears led the men's team. Liu won the 500 free (4:43.52) and 1000 free (9:49.58), Gamilla touched first in the 100 breast (57.74) and 200 breast (2:08.06), and Mears captured the 1-meter (268.05) and 3-meter (256.85) diving competitions.
Also winning were
Zach Byars in the 200 back (1:54.18),
Alex Daw in the 100 IM (53.12), and the 800 free relay team of
Ryan Bates,
Lenny DeMartino,
Ben Militti and
Logan Townsend (7:02.71).
Meghan Eng was a multiple winner for the SLU women, claiming first place in the 100 back (58.17) and 200 back (2:06.06).
Emily Leonard won the 1000 free (10:46.78), and
Kenna Cashman tied for first in the 100 breast (1:06.48).
Lauren Van Vooren had second-place performances in 1-meter (211.65) and 3-meter (237.20) diving. Additional runner-up efforts were turned in by
MaryBeth Clark in the 200 fly (2:11.06),
Lettie Williams in the 200 back (2:07.87),
Hazel Perkins in the 200 breast (2:27.88),
Karis Reynaga in the 500 free (5:13.84) and
Lauren Mendlick in the 100 IM (1:01.51).
