DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Saint Louis University volleyball team suffered a loss here Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 to Davidson on the road.

Set one was a marathon, featuring a 32-30 final score in favor of the Wildcats. The Billikens held a 19-14 advantage midway through, but a 7-0 run from the home team put SLU in a three-point deficit. The teams battled, trading points, but two late Billiken errors gave the Wildcats the 1-0 advantage in the Saturday matchup.

From there, the Wildcats took control, taking set two with ease. Davidson held the Billikens to .048 swinging percentage and 12 kills, in the second period and cruised to a 2-0 advantage with a 25-18 win. SLU showed fight in the third set, compiling 14 kills on .154 hitting but the Wildcats muscled out their second 25-18 win of the day to take the match, 3-0.

Jillian Mattingly led SLU with 11 kills while
Kayla Richardson added 10 of her own.

The loss drops the Billikens to 13-15 overall and 6-10 in Atlantic 10 Conference play.

SLU will be back in action for the team's final regular season action next weekend at home against George Washington. Friday night's match will begin at 6 p.m. with Saturday's first serve set for 2 p.m.
