Connoyer to Present at NFCA Coaches Clinic

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University head coach Christy Connoyer is one of five collegiate softball coaches scheduled to present at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Louisville Coaches Clinic Friday-Saturday, Jan. 5-6.

Connoyer, presenting at an NFCA clinic for a third consecutive year, will be joined by coaches Karen Weekly of Tennessee, Beth Torina of LSU, Steve Johnigan of Baylor and Megan Smith Lyon of North Carolina at the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Expo Center in Louisville, Ky. The Louisville event is one of eight clinics conducted by the NFCA this year.

Now in her 14th season at the helm, Connoyer led the 2023 Billikens to the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title, the first league championship in program history, and was rewarded with A-10 Coach of the Year plaudits. She is the longest-tenured and winningest coach (322 victories) in Saint Louis softball history and has coached Billiken players who have earned All-Region honors 11 times and All-Conference accolades 43 times. Connoyer owns 353 career victories; she collected 31 wins in one season as head coach at Tulsa.

Connoyer and her fellow clinicians will share ideas, drills, strategies, player development techniques and more. The clinic format includes rotating speaker sessions, breaks to visit with exhibitors, a Q&A panel with the speakers, and a social hour. All speakers are available throughout the event to answer specific questions and share their insights about the game.

Clinic attendees are not required to hold NFCA membership, but non-members will have an opportunity to join on-site.

The cost to attend the clinic is $159 through Jan. 4 and $169 on-site.
