Billikens Welcome Iowa Transfer Camille Welker

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University women's soccer coach Katie Shields has announced the addition of former University of Iowa defender Camille Welker to the Billikens' 2024 roster. Welker will have two years of eligibility remaining.

"We are thrilled to welcome Camille to our program," Shields said. "She is a player we have known since her youth days in St. Louis. Camille will bring a tough and gritty mentality to our team. She is an elite athlete and individual defender who will thrive in our competitive environment. Her high character and disciplined work ethic will be tremendous additions to our program's culture."

Welker was part of Iowa's 2023 team that captured the Big Ten tournament title, reached the second round of the NCAA Championship, recorded 12 shutouts, and allowed only 17 goals in 22 games. In her two seasons with the Hawkeyes, she played in 26 games with six starts, logged 676 minutes and scored one goal. Welker earned a spot on the 2023 Big Ten Fall All-Academic team and was named to the Iowa President's List as a freshman.

A St. Louis native, Welker is a product of Cor Jesu Academy and Sporting STL Red Devils. She was a Cor Jesu team captain as a senior and helped the Chargers capture the Class 4 district title in her junior season.
