Big Second Half Lifts NC State Past Billikens, 82-70

RALEIGH, N.C. – Playing in its final non-conference game of the season, Saint Louis fell 82-70 at NC State on Wednesday night at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Billikens dip to 7-6 overall, while the Wolfpack improve to 8-3.

Bradley Ezewiro had his second impressive game in as many outings, scoring 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 6-of-7 from the line. He corralled a career-high-tying nine rebounds.

Tim Dalger finished with 17 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the line. Terrence Hargrove Jr. scored eight points and collected eight rebounds.

Both teams shot 50 percent from the floor. NC State, however, shot 9-of-17 from 3-point range in the second half after going 0-for-8 in the first half. The Billikens got a trey from Hargrove on their first attempt of the game, but went 0 for their next 11 to finish 1-of-12 from distance.

SLU went up 5-0 at the jump on a Hargove basket and an Ezewiro traditional 3-point play. The SLU lead got to six before it exchanged hands several times throughout the half. The Billikens took a 36-33 lead into the break.

In the second half, NC State quickly put an end to its 3-point drought to two quick ones to force a SLU timeout. NC State then used an 8-0 run, part of an 11-2 rally, to gain command.

Saint Louis is off for two weeks and returns to action to open Atlantic 10 Conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, against Loyola Chicago at Chaifetz Arena.
