Saint Louis junior outfielder Tyler Fogarty connected on a three-run home run in Saint Louis' 8-4 loss to Marshall Saturday afternoon at Hoover Metropolitan Complex in Hoover, Ala.
SLU moved to 0-2 on the season, while the Thundering Herd improved to 2-0.
After surrendering a run in the opening frame, the Billikens tied the contest with in the third inning when Patrick Clohisy scored on a wild pitch.
The Thundering Herd regained the advantage with a three-run fourth inning.
Fogarty's three-run shot over the left field wall knotted the contest at 4-4 in the fifth.
Marshall added a run in the sixth and three more in the eighth to post an 8-4 victory.
Clohisy, Fogarty and Ethan Sitzman collected two-hit games. Clohisy scored twice.
The Billikens and Marshall will square off in the series finale Sunday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
