Saint Louis heads to Richmond, Va., to take on the Richmond Spiders on Tuesday night in Atlantic 10 Conference play. Game time is 6 p.m. (CT). 
 
The Billikens, 18-9 overall and 10-4 in A-10 play, enter the week tied for second in the A-10 standings with Dayton. VCU is a game ahead in first. Richmond (13-14, 6-8 A-10) will be playing its first game since head coach Chris Mooney announced he will miss the remainder of the season due to heart surgery.

ABOUT RICHMOND 

The Spiders will be playing their first game since head coach Chris Mooney announced that he will miss the rest of the season due to a heart procedure. Mooney has compiled 325 victories in 18 seasons as the Spiders' head coach. Peter Thomas will serve as interim head coach in Mooney's absence.
 
Thomas is a 2007 graduate of Richmond who is in his 16th season on a college coaching staff. He rejoined Richmond last May after nine seasons on the staff at Campbell University, including five as Associate Head Coach. Thomas served as Richmond's Director of Basketball Operations for five seasons from 2008-13 after spending the 2007-08 season on the staff at Eastern Kentucky. Thomas served as a team captain at Richmond in 2006-07.
 
Richmond is tough to beat at home, going 11-3 (5-2 in conference) in games played at the Robins Center.
 
Tyler Burton leads the Spiders and is second in the Atlantic 10 Conference with 18.9 ppg. He is also second in the A-10 in FG attempts and FT attempts. Burton is the only Spider averaging double-figures.
 
Neal Quinn averages 10.1 ppg in conference games only. Matt Grace has drained a team-high 22 3-pointers during A-10 play and scores 9.9 ppg.
 
Richmond is the reigning Atlantic 10 Conference tournament champions. The Spiders rolled to four wins in four days as the six seed last season at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
 
THE SAINT LOUIS-RICHMOND SERIES          

This is the 23rd meeting all-time between the Billikens and Spiders. Saint Louis has won four out of the last five and leads the series 13-9. Richmond won the last game, however, 68-66, at the Robins Center on Feb. 25, 2022.
