Sophomore outfielder Patrick Clohisy connected on four home runs, including three in the second game of the doubleheader, leading Saint Louis to a pair of victories over Northwestern Friday afternoon at Billiken Sports Center.
The Billikens, winners of 10 straight, improved to 10-3 on the season, while Northwestern dipped to 0-12.
Clohisy tied the SLU record with three home runs in a single game and became the first Billiken to do so since the 2004 season. His seven RBIs in the contest were one shy of the program mark.
SLU posted four multi-run frames in the seven-inning 10-run win in the day's opener. Cole Smith led the way by going 4-6 with six RBIs and three runs scored and connected on the walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Knox Preston went 2-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
A Clohisy three-run shot was part of a six-run fourth inning for the Billikens in game No. 2. After surrendering three runs in the opening frame, SLU outscored the Wildcats 14-2 the rest of the way.
Clohisy went 4-5 with three home runs, a triple seven RBIs and four runs scored in the contest.
Colin Bergmann and Austin Neuweg each tallied three hits. Bergmann went 3-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored, while Neuweg had two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Ben Cherico and Ethan Bell each tossed a scoreless innings of relief.
The series finale is set for Noon Saturday at Billiken Sports Center.
