EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Saint Louis posted a season-high 21 hits in a 16-11 midweek baseball victory over Southern Indiana on Tuesday at the USI Baseball Field.
Saint Louis improves to 19-11 with the win. The Screaming Eagles fall to 9-23.
SLU received hits from 11 different Billikens.
Dominic Cusumano went 4-for-5 with two RBIs.
Tyler Fogarty posted his third-straight multiple-hit game with a 3-for-4, three-run performance.
Hayden Moore scored five times, tying the school record for runs in a game set six other times, most recently by
Cam Redding in 2021.
Cole Smith's hitting streak is now at 15 for the season after he stroked a double in the sixth inning.
Patrick Clohisy and
Ethan Sitzman also hit safely to extend their hitting streaks.
The teams combined to use 17 pitchers on the night, including nine for SLU. USI committed seven errors in the game.
Southern Indiana owned leads of 1-0 after one and 5-3 after two before the Billikens tied the score at 5-5 in the top of the third. SLU broke out for seven runs in the top of the sixth to build a lead it would not relinquish.
The Billikens host a big Atlantic 10 Conference series against Saint Joseph's this weekend. The three-game set begins Friday night at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
