VB Preview: Billikens Conclude Non-Conference Schedule

ST. LOUIS -- The Saint Louis University Volleyball team will conclude its non-conference schedule over the weekend at the KC Roos Klassic. SLU (6-3) will play Austin Peay (6-3) to open the tournament on Friday morning before taking on SEMO (5-3). The Billikens will close out their weekend and non-conference slate against Kansas City (8-1) at 2 p.m. Saturday.

First Serve
  • Last weekend SLU  moved to 6-3 on the year, earning wins over an Miami (Ohio) and Illinois State while dropping a lone, four-set match to New Mexico State.
  • Dating back to the program's inception in 1975, SLU has never started with 12-straight road contests. The team last played 11-straight matches away from home to open its campaign in 2005.
By the Numbers
  • Two: Freshman Trinity Luckett ranks 3rd in the A-10 in hitting percentage compiling a mark of .364 with 62 kills on 118 attempts with only 19 errors.
  • Three: Emily Henken ranks in the top-10 in three categories in the Atlantic 10: Kills (6th; 119), Service Aces (3rd; 15) and Points (5th; 137.5).
  • Five: Five members of the 2023 Billiken squad are from St. Louis or the surrounding metropolitan area.
High Percentage Shots
  • Delaney Rice hit a career-best mark of .647 in the Billikens' three-set sweep of Mississippi Valley eclipsing her former mark of .545 last reached in 2021. The number is good for the fifth-best hitting contest in the A-10 so far this season.
  • Trinity Luckett is hitting a percentage of .364 this season which not only leads the Billikens but ranks second in the Atlantic 10.
  • SLU's team hitting percentage of .235 is good for third in the A-10 after nine matches. The Billikens have recorded 1,151 attacks with 459 kills and 188 errors.
Double the Fun
  • Two Billikens have recorded double- doubles so far this season with Emily Henken and Kate Aupperle both achieiving the feat.
  • Henken has recorded two double- doubles so far this season against Bradley (17 kills, 10 digs) and UAlbany (17 kills, 12 digs).
  • Aupperle's double-double came against Bradley where she recorded 13 digs and 41 assists in the Billiken's win over the Braves.
