ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis hosted the Billiken XC Invitational on Saturday morning at St. Vincent Park in St. Louis.

The women's 5K race featured teams from SLU, Missouri State and Jefferson College. The Billikens placed three runners in the top five. Sophia Pelligreen led SLU for the second meet in a row, crossing line second overall with a time of 18:11. McKenna Paulson finished just behind in third overall with a time of 18:14.4.

Carly Sear (fourth overall, 18:27.7), Brianna Cummings (10th overall, 19:06.8) and Avery Minnis (11th overall, 19:07.1) also scored for the Bills.

Firaol Ahmed was the Billikens' top finisher in the men's 8K, finishing in 26:07.5. SLU's top five also included Patrick Donovan (26:38.5), Bora Celiknal (26:40.8), Lukasz Iwanowski (26:49.8) and Spencer Werner (26:51.7).

SLU is back in action on Friday, Sept. 29, for the Loyola Lakefront Invitational in Chicago.
