DALLAS – SMU's goal in the ninth minute lifted the 22nd-ranked Mustangs past the visiting Saint Louis Billikens on Friday night in nonconference men's soccer action at Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium.

The Billikens fall to 1-3 with the loss, while the Mustangs improve to 4-1.

SMU scored the game's only goal in the ninth minute when Jelldrik Dallmann poked one into the back of the net past SLU goalie Mason Hart. 

SLU fired eight shots in the match, including two that had to be cleared off the line by SMU defenders. Corner kicks were even at 5-5.

The Bills return to action next Friday night (Sept. 15), taking on VCU in Richmond, Virginia, to open Atlantic 10 Conference play.
