DALLAS – SMU's goal in the ninth minute lifted the 22nd-ranked Mustangs past the visiting Saint Louis Billikens on Friday night in nonconference men's soccer action at Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium.
The Billikens fall to 1-3 with the loss, while the Mustangs improve to 4-1.

SLU fired eight shots in the match, including two that had to be cleared off the line by SMU defenders. Corner kicks were even at 5-5.
The Bills return to action next Friday night (Sept. 15), taking on VCU in Richmond, Virginia, to open Atlantic 10 Conference play.
