ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis fifth-year defender
Katie Houck has been named honorable mention on the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week for Oct. 14-20.
Houck began the week with an assist on the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory at Richmond Oct. 17, and she helped Saint Louis hold the Spiders without a shot from her outside-back position. In a 4-1 win at La Salle Oct. 20, she recorded her first goal of the season, which also was her first career game-winning goal, and added an assist as the Billikens improved to 10-1-5 overall and 6-0-2 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Houck is part of a back line that has helped Saint Louis post nine shutouts and a 0.57 goals against average, a mark that leads the A-10 and ranks 16th in the nation. She also is tied for the team lead with three assists.
Saint Louis is in second place in the A-10, one point behind league leader Dayton. The Billikens host George Mason Thursday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. before traveling to Dayton for the regular-season finale Sunday, Oct. 27.
