WASHINGTON, D.C. – Seniors Peyton Kennedy and Kennedy Calhoun earned preseason Atlantic 10 All-Conference honors, the league announced today in conjunction with Media Day in Washington, D.C.
Kennedy was named to the preseason All-Conference second team, while Calhoun was voted to the five-player preseason All-Defensive team.
Additionally, the Billikens were picked to finish seventh in the league race this year. The All-Conference teams and predicted order of finish are voted upon by the league's 15 head coaches.
Kennedy was the Most Valuable Performer of the WNIT last season. She set the SLU single-season scoring record (677 points) while leading the Bills with 16.9 ppg. In four seasons at SLU, Kennedy has scored 1,163 points.
Calhoun has recorded 70 or more steals in each of her first three seasons, all of which ended with a championship (2022 Big South, 2023 A-10, 2024 WNIT). She was named to the A-10's All-Defensive team last season after ranking 24th in the NCAA in steals with 86. Her 2.2 steals per game ranked third in the league. Â
Saint Louis is coming off back-to-back championship-winning seasons. Last year, the Billikens won the WNIT, the first postseason national championship ever in A-10 women's basketball history. That came on the heels of the program's first NCAA appearance and A-10 title in 2022-23.
