Start the new year by making a difference in someone's life! On
Friday, January 3, 2025, SLU Athletics and
St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, are coming together for the
third annual Cold Weather Clothing Drive at the Billikens men's basketball game against
Saint Joseph's at
Chaifetz Arena.
This is your chance to cheer on the Billikens
and help people experiencing homelessness stay warm this winter. Bring
new or gently used cold weather gear—like coats, hats, scarves, gloves, or blankets—and you'll receive
FREE entry to the game as a thank you. It's a small act of kindness that can have a
huge impact—because for someone without shelter, warm clothing can be life-saving.
Event Details:
- Date: Friday, January 3, 2025
- Time: 8:00 PM tipoff
- Location: Chaifetz Arena (Gate B Collection Point)
- Game: SLU Billikens vs. Saint Joseph's
Why It Matters
All donations go directly to
St. Patrick Center, where they provide warmth, comfort, and dignity to people who need it most. St. Patrick Center transforms lives every day by helping people find
housing, employment, and healthcare.
"It may not seem like much, but to someone facing winter without shelter, a coat and a pair of gloves can be life-saving," said
Bri Gerzevske, Senior Director of Philanthropy at St. Patrick Center. "Together with SLU Athletics and the generosity of our community, we can help keep St. Louis warm this winter. Your donation truly makes a difference."
As one of
nine ministries of Catholic Charities, St. Patrick Center works alongside other ministries to serve seniors, veterans, families, and children across the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
How to Participate:
- Bring new or gently used cold weather gear—coats, hats, gloves, scarves, or blankets—to Chaifetz Arena on January 3.
- Drop off your donation at Gate B—the designated collection point.
- Enjoy the game with your FREE ticket as a thank you for giving back!
