Billiken Baseball Remains Undefeated with Victory Over Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Saint Louis University baseball continued its hot start to the season here Wednesday, defeating Lindenwood, 10-2, in the team's first midweek game of the year.

The victory boosts the Billikens to their first 4-0 start since the 2017 season when they tallied opening wins over Lafayette, Incarnate Word and Notre Dame.

The Billikens' bats were on fire once again as they scored 10 runs, marking their fourth time this season putting up double-figures.

After entering the matchup with 49 runs through three games, six of Billikens' 10 more at the Lou Brock Sports Complex were scored by Hayden Moore, Patrick Clohisy and Tyler Fogarty

Cole Smith helped boost SLU to the eight-run win, driving in two RBIs to lead the team.

Lindenwood led, 2-1 at the conclusion of the second inning, before the Billikens' bats went to work and they scored nine unanswered.

Jackson Yarberry got the win on the mound in his first appearance as a Billiken, facing 17 batters, only allowing three hits and striking out seven.

The Billikens continue their season over the weekend playing Western Illinois in a three-game series in Millington, Tenn.
