ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
  • The Billikens are coming off a 96-91 home victory over George Washington on Saturday afternoon. The 96 points for the Bills match the most they have ever scored in an A-10 home game.
  • It was a balanced scoring effort for the Billikens vs. GW, as six scored in double figures and the leading scorer (Gibson Jimerson with 19) did not reach 20.
  • Gibson Jimerson needs two 3s to tie and three to break Erwin Claggett's career 3s record of 295. Also, Jimerson is 17 points away from reaching the top five in career points in school history and would pass Billiken greats Kevin Lisch and Scott Highmark in the process.
  • Terrence Hargrove Jr. is six points away from becoming the 37th player in school history to join the 1,000-point club. Hargrove has scored in double-figures in four straight.
  • Bradley Ezewiro is the team's top rebounder at 6.2 rpg.
  • Cian Medley is coming off a career-high 14 points and a career-high-tying seven assists against GW. His 93 assists are tied for fifth in school history for most in a season by a freshman.
  • Kellen Thames is averaging nearly 10 ppg over the last five games and is shooting 63.3 percent (19-30) from the field during that stretch.
  • Djordje Curcic nailed three treys for a career-best nine points and also dished out a career-high five assists against GW.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Gibson Jimerson's 19 points led six Saint Louis players in double figures, and a hot-shooting first half carried the Billikens past George Washington 96-91 Saturday afternoon at Chaifetz Arena.
  • SLU improved to 10-17 overall and 3-11 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. George Washington, which posted a 10th straight defeat, fell to 14-13, 3-11.
  • Cian Medley tallied a career-high 14 points and matched his career best with a game-high seven assists. Medley was 6-of-8 from the free throw line, recording career highs in makes and attempts. Larry Hughes II also tossed in 14 points, including 11 in the second half.
  • Terrence Hargrove Jr. scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Kellen Thames had 11 points, and Bradley Ezewiro added 10 to go with seven rebounds. Djordje Curcic contributed career highs of nine points and five assists; his points were scored on three 3-pointers netted in a span of less than two minutes in the first half, giving SLU a big spark.
  • The Billikens topped the 80-point mark for a fourth time in five games. They were 27-of-33 (81.8 percent) from the foul line, setting their season highs for makes and attempts in an A-10 game.
 ABOUT THE SPIDERS
  • The University of Richmond (Richmond, Va.) Spiders have won three straight and are 20-7 overall and 12-2 in the Atlantic 10.
  • The Spiders entered the week tied atop the A-10 standings with Loyola Chicago. The Ramblers played at St. Bonaventure on Tuesday night.
  • Richmond had an 11-game winning streak this year, the second longest in the nation.
  • Graduate transfer Jordan King, who played at Siena and ETSU before arriving at Richmond, has emerged as one of the top scorers in the A-10. He is second in the league in scoring with 18.8 ppg. His 41.7 shooting clip from 3-point range is 15th in the NCAA and second in the conference.
  • Neal Quinn scores 12.1 ppg and leads the Spiders in assists (106) and blocked shots (38). Isaiah Bigelow scores 11.4 ppg and brings down a team-best 6.6 rpg. Dji Bailey leads the Spiders with 51 steals, which ranks third in the A-10.
  • The Spiders are second in the A-10 in scoring defense, yielding just 65.9 ppg. They are also second in the league in field-goal percentage defense (.397) and 3-point field-goal percentage defense (.307). Richmond is second in the NCAA in fewest turnovers per game as they turn the ball over just 8.4 times per game.
  • Head coach Chris Mooney is in his 19th season at Richmond and his 22nd overall. He is 345-265 with the Spiders and 387-304 in his career.
SERIES HISTORY
  • This is the 24th meeting all-time between the Billikens and Spiders.
  • Saint Louis leads the all-time series 13-10, but the Spiders have won two straight.
  • Richmond has won three times in Chaifetz Arena, the last being during the 2018-19 season. Later that year in the A-10 Championship, the Billikens rallied to defeat the Spiders in the second round. That set the stage for the incredible run when SLU won four games in four days to secure the 2019 A-10 Championship in Brooklyn.
