SETTING THE SCENE

  • Saint Louis (8-14, 1-8 A-10) starts a Philadelphia swing on Wednesday night when it heads to Tom Gola Arena to take on the La Salle Explorers in a 6:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. CT tipoff.
  • The Billikens will remain in the City of Brotherly Love until their Saturday afternoon matchup against Saint Joseph's at Hagan Arena. That game will tip at 12:30 p.m. ET / 11:30 a.m. CT.
  • Wednesday's game will be streamed on ESPN+.
  • KMOX 1120 AM serves as the Home for Billiken Basketball on the radio. Billiken Hall of Famers and longtime SLU men's basketball radio partners Bob Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr. will the call the action for all SLU games, both at home and on the road.
ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
  • SLU is looking to break out of a six-game losing skid, its longest since the 2010-11 season.
  • Terrence Hargrove Jr. will break the school record for games played on Wednesday night as he will be making his 135th appearance in this his fifth season with the Billikens.
  • Gibson Jimerson leads the Billikens with 14.8 ppg. He is approaching Erwin Claggett's school record of 295 career 3-pointers, needing just 13 more to surpass the Billiken great. Also, Jimerson is seventh on the Billikens' all-time scoring list.
  • Bradley Ezewiro is second on the Billikens with 13.3 ppg and leads the team with 6.5 rpg. He has scored in double figures in nine of his 11 appearances this year and is coming off a team-high 15 points against Fordham.
  • Larry Hughes II finished two rebounds shy of a double-double against Fordham with 10 points and a career-best eight rebounds. He is shooting 40.5 percent (17-of-42) from 3-point range during A-10 play.
  • Cian Medley leads the Billikens with 71 assists. He needs six more to crack the top 10 list for most assists by a freshman in school history.
  • Sincere Parker averages 12.5 ppg to rank third on the Bills.
  • SLU has already had eight different starting lineup combinations this season, the most in the Travis Ford era.
LAST TIME OUT         
  • Fordham's Elijah Gray hit a jump shot with just over a second left to give the Rams a 67-65 Atlantic 10 Conference win over Saint Louis Saturday afternoon at Chaifetz Arena.
  • The Billikens fell to 8-14 overall and 1-8 in the A-10, while Fordham improved to 10-12, 4-5.
  • Bradley Ezewiro led the SLU scoring effort with 15 points and was joined in double figures by Terrence Hargrove Jr. (13), Sincere Parker (13) and Larry Hughes II (10).
  • Hughes grabbed a game- and career-high eight rebounds to lead the Billikens to a 40-32 edge on the glass. Ezewiro and Hargrove collected six boards apiece. Cian Medley had a game-high five assists.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS        
  • The La Salle University Explorers (Philadelphia, Pa.) are 11-11 overall and 2-7 in A-10 play.
  • The Explorers fell 88-82 against Saint Joseph's Saturday. La Salle led by six at halftime but Saint Joseph's erupted for 50 second-half points to secure the win. Jhamir Brickus had a big game for La Salle with 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
  • Khalil Brantley leads the Explorers with 15.1 ppg, while Brickus follows with 14.8 ppg. The impressive backcourt tandem each have a team-leading 33 steals. Brickus is the top assist man in the A-10 with 111.
  • Daeshon Shepherd (9.6 ppg), Anwar Gill (9.5 ppg) and Andres Marrero (8.8 ppg) are all near double figures on the scoring chart. Marrero has drained a team-leading 49 3-pointers and shoots 40.5 percent from 3.
    As a team, the Explorers lead the A-10 in assist/turnover ratio (1.60). They average less than 10 turnovers committed per game, second in the league only to Richmond. La Salle takes and makes a lot of 3-pointers (second and third in A-10, respectively), but rank 11th in the league in 3-point percentage.
  • Fran Dunphy is in his second season at La Salle and his 32nd year as a collegiate head coach, with all of his stops coming in Philly (Penn, Temple, La Salle). His career record stands at 606-355.
SERIES HISTORY         
  • This will be the 34th all-time meeting between the Billikens and Explorers. Saint Louis leads the all-time series 23-10. Saint Louis has won five in a row versus the Explorers and 10 out of the last 11.
  • Last season, the Billikens won 84-71 at Chaifetz Arena behind 20 points by Sincere Parker and a career-high 20 rebounds by Francis Okoro.
  • The Billikens are 7-6 at Gola Arena. This will be the Bills' last game in this design of the venue, however, as the building is set to undergo extensive renovations in the off-season with John Glaser Arena debuting next fall.
