ST. LOUIS – The baseball field at the Billiken Sports Center will feature a new, state-of-the-art playing surface this upcoming season. 

This winter, the outfield was re-sodded using a sand-based, laser-graded process. The new natural grass playing surface is paired with the infield's Truhop Turf from Shaw Sports Turf, which was installed in 2016. 

"I am extremely grateful to the administration and University for the updates to our field at the Billiken Sports Center," said head coach Darin Hendrickson. "The additions ahead of our 2024 season will not only improve our student-athletes' experience, but allow us to play year-round to be fully prepared for our upcoming schedule." 

The SLU baseball team will kick off its 2024 slate in Port Charlotte, Fla., against St. Thomas, Maine and Illinois State, Feb. 16-18. The Billikens' home opener will take place March 1-3 at the Billiken Sports Center against Le Moyne
