ST. LOUIS – Behind eight scoreless innings on the mound from Jackson Holmes, Saint Louis University baseball cruised to a 4-0 win over Le Moyne here Saturday afternoon to move to 9-1 on the year.
 
Knox Preston drove in the Billikens' first run of the day in the fourth inning after Tyler Fogarty got on base singling through the left side. In the sixth, Fogarty added SLU's second run of the day to extend the home team's lead to 2-0. The Billikens added two insurance runs in their final at-bat, as Fogarty drove in Patrick Clohisy before scoring his third run of the day to put SLU up by four.
 
On the mound, Holmes got the win, pitching eight full innings. The junior right-handed pitcher faced 28 batters, striking out eight, walking none and only allowing four hits. In relief in the ninth inning, Jackson Yarberry secured two of the game's final outs striking out two batters of his own.
 
The Billikens conclude their series against Le Moyne Sunday at the Billiken Sports Center. First pitch against the Dolphins is set for 12 p.m.
