THE BASICS
Taylor Hochman outdueled Ohio's Skipp Miller in the circle, and Saint Louis scratched out a run in the top of the sixth inning to capture a 1-0 victory on day two of Austin Peay's Governors Classic.
 
The Billikens improved to 9-4 with their fifth consecutive win.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis was held without a hit through five innings, while Ohio stranded a single runner in the first, second and fourth frames.
•After the first two Billiken hitters were retired in the sixth, Natalie Sullivan was hit by a pitch and stole second. Cami Newbanks' RBI single, SLU's only hit of the game, brought Sullivan home with what proved to be the winning run.
•Ohio put two runners aboard in its half of the sixth and another in the seventh, but Hochman shut the door.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Hochman registered the first seven-inning shutout of her Saint Louis career and improved to 6-1 on the season. She struck out two and allowed four hits and two walks.
•Chloe Rhine drew two walks.
