WBB Preview: Billikens Travel to UCA for First Round of WNIT

ST. Louis – Saint Louis University women's basketball (17-18, 9-9) continues its post-season journey Thursday taking on Central Arkansas (21-11, 11-5) in the first round of the WNIT. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. (CST) at the Farris Center in Conway, Ark.

A-10 Championship Recap
  • SLU fell in the A-10 Championship semifinal to No. 5-seeded VCU, 68-62, to end its run in the conference tournament.
  • Peyton Kennedy led the team with 16 points and seven boards in the loss.
  • The Billikens stunned No. 2-seeded VCU Friday night defeating the Rams by three points in the championship quarterfinals.
  • The Billikens 65-63 win over No. 2-seeded VCU was a back-in-forth battle that saw nine lead changes and three ties.
  • Peyton Kennedy scored 22 points in the win while Kyla McMakin (15), and Brooklyn Gray (12) scored double figures for the second-straight game.
  • As a defense, the Billikens forced 17 VCU turnovers and converted them into 17 points while grabbing 10 steals as a team.
  • SLU shot 90.5 percent from the charity stripe, with 19-made free throws helping their 65-point effort.
  • The Billikens defeated No. 10-seeded George Washington 75-68 Thursday night as SLU used a fourth-quarter comeback to earn the win.
