ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University women's basketball player
Peyton Kennedy has been named to the College Sports Communicators 2023-24 Academic All-District team, the organization announced today.
Kennedy, a senior forward for Rockford, Ill., is pursuing a double major in Entrepreneurship and Marketing at SLU and boasts a 3.67 GPA. During the 2023-24 season Kennedy has started every game for the Billikens, and is the team's second leading scorer with 589 points. She has put up double-figure performances in 29 of the team's 36 games and posted a career-high 31 points earlier this season. Kennedy also broke the school record for a perfect game, going 12-12 from the floor in the Billikens' win over UIC on Nov. 26.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a sophomore both academically and athletically and have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or started at least 66 percent of the contests. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must have a minimum of a 3.50 for both their graduate program GPA and their undergraduate GPA.
The Billikens continue their post season journey this week at Purdue Fort Wayne in the Super 16 of the WNIT. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. (CST) against the Mastodons.
