SETTING THE SCENE

  • Saint Louis (11-19, 4-13 A-10) heads to St. Bonaventure, New York, to take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Saturday. Game time is 11:30 a.m. (CT) / 12:30 p.m. (ET).
  • Following Saturday's game, the Billikens fly to Brooklyn, N.Y., to begin preparation for the 2024 Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Championship at the Barclays Center. Saint Louis opens play in the tourney on Tuesday, March 12, against an opponent TBD. Game time will be either 10:30 a.m. (CT), 1 p.m. (CT) or 3:30 p.m. (CT).  
  • Saturday's game will be televised on USA Network, the first game of an A-10 doubleheader that features Richmond at George Mason in the second game. Paul Burmeister and Tim McCormick will be calling the action.
  • The game can be found on the radio dial at 97.1 FM in St. Louis, as there is a programming conflict on KMOX. Billiken Hall of Famers and longtime SLU men's basketball radio partners Bob Ramsey and Earl Austin Jr. will the call the action for all SLU games, both at home and on the road.
ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
  • Saint Louis (11-19, 4-13 A-10) wraps up the regular season on Saturday when it takes on the Bonnies from St. Bonaventure.
  • The Billikens are locked in to playing in the first round of the A-10 Men's Basketball Championship, which begins Tuesday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
  • Gibson Jimerson has been on a tear as of late, scoring 20 or more points in the last three and finishing in double figures in the last six. Over the last three games, he is averaging 25.0 ppg and shooting better than 50 percent (.545, 12-22) from 3-point range. Jimerson scored a season-high 30 points in the Bills' last road game, a 94-91 win at Rhode Island last Saturday.
  • Leading scorer Sincere Parker (15.9 ppg) left the Rhode Island game with a shoulder injury and did not play against Dayton.
  • Terrence Hargrove Jr. is third on the Billikens in scoring and second in rebounding. He had 17 points Tuesday against Dayton before the fifth-year senior took park in an emotional Senior Night ceremony after the game.
  • Larry Hughes II has scored in double figures in four straight.
  • Kellen Thames leads SLU in FG percentage (.589, 76-129), currently the sixth-best mark by a Billiken in a single season in school history.
  • Cian Medley's 105 assists are fourth among freshmen in a single season in school history.
LAST TIME OUT         
  • Gibson Jimerson and Terrence Hargrove Jr. combined for 41 points on 15-of-24 shooting Tuesday at Chaifetz Arena, but 25th-ranked Dayton defeated Saint Louis 100-83 in the Billikens' 2023-24 home finale.
  • Jimerson, whose 8-of-13 shooting effort included 4-of-8 from 3-point range, tallied 24 points. He added a season-high-tying five assists.
  • Hargrove was 7-of-11 from the floor and scored 17 points. He led the Bills with five rebounds.
  • Three other players scored in double figures for SLU. Bradley Ezewiro tossed in 15 points, Larry Hughes II had 12, and Kellen Thames finished with 10. Hughes matched his career best of five assists, tying Jimerson for game-high honors, and collected a game-high three steals.
  • Saint Louis shot 50.8 percent (31-of-61) from the field and 93.8 percent (15-of-16) from the foul line.
  • Three Flyers finished in double figures, led by DaRon Holmes II's 25 points.
ABOUT THE BONNIES
  • The St. Bonaventure Bonnies enter Saturday's regular-season finale 18-11 overall and 9-8 in A-10 play.
  • The Bonnies were winners of four out of their five and played themselves into contention for a top-four seed in the A-10 Men's Basketball Championship before falling in their last game at George Washington, 86-75.
  • Chad Venning leads the Bonnies in scoring at 14.2 ppg. He ranks fifth in the conference in both FG percentage (.542) and blocked shots (51).
  • Mika Adams-Woods scores 12.8 ppg and is the team-leader in assists with 104. The Cincinnati transfer ranks sixth in the conference assist/turnover ratio (2.31).
  • Charles Pride leads the Bonnies with 5.8 rebounds. The Bryant transfer is especially strong on the offensive glass where he pulls down 2.33 offensive boards per game, ranking seventh in the league.
  • Moses Flowers and Daryl Banks III near double digits in scoring with 9.8 and 9.4 ppg, respectively. Banks was a third-team All-Conference selection last season. Two years ago, he was a member of the Saint Peter's squad that rolled to an Elite Eight appearance.
  • Head coach Mark Schmidt is in his 17th season at St. Bonaventure and his 23rd overall as a collegiate head coach. He is 300-224 at SBU and 382-314 overall.
SERIES HISTORY         
  • This is the 32nd meeting all-time between the Billikens and Bonnies. St. Bonaventure leads the series 16-15.
  • The Billikens have won the last two matchups. Last season, SLU won 78-55 at Chaifetz Arena. The year before in 2021-22, the Bonnies took both games against the Bills in the regular season before SLU prevailed 57-56 in a thrilling quarterfinal round matchup at the A-10 Men's Basketball Championship in Washington, D.C.
  • The Billikens have won only once at the Reilly Center, on Jan. 16, 2013. In that game, Dwayne Evans scored a game-high 18 points and Cody Ellis chipped in 10 as SLU led wire-to-wire, 67-57.
LAST TIME VS. THE BONNIES
  • Saint Louis defeated the Bonnies 78-55 on Jan. 7 at Chaifetz Arena.
  • Gibson Jimerson scored a team-high 13 points for the Bills. Yuri Collins had a double-double of 11 points and 14 assists.
  • Chad Venning led St. Bonaventure with 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting, while Moses Flowers was 6-of-10 en route to 15 points.
