BRONX, N.Y. - Saint Louis University baseball won its fifth-straight game here Friday defeating Fordham 6-1 in the opening game of the series.
The victory moves the Billikens to 26-8 on the season while advancing their Atlantic 10 Conference mark to 8-2.
Entering the matchup with a 4-5 road record, the visiting Billikens got out to a quick start, as

Easton Richter, SLU led 3-0 at the conclusion of the second inning.
Patrick Clohisy added to SLU's lead in the top of the fifth, smashing his seventh home run of the season, this time a solo shot to right center field. Fordham fought back in the bottom of the inning, driving in the Rams' first run of the day to bring them within three (4-1).
The Billikens solidified their 6-1 in the sixth inning, as Richter drove

Ethan Sitzman tacked on SLU's final run of the day.
SLU's six runs were on 13 hits in the victory, while the Rams tallied 12 hits but left 12 on base.Â
Throwing five complete innings for his seventh win of the 2024 season,
Jackson Holmes allowed nine hits while striking out two batters.
Ethan Bell earned his fifth save of the year on the mound, registering three strikeouts and only allowing three hits through his four innings on the mound
The Billikens continue their series against the Rams tomorrow at 12 p.m. (CST).
