WASHINGTON – Saint Louis University freshman pitcher Isabel Royle is the Atlantic 10 Conference softball Rookie of the Week for April 22-28, the league office announced Monday. It is Royle's third Rookie of the Week nod this season.
 
Royle posted a 2-0 record and 2.42 ERA in two appearances last week. She went the distance in a 4-3 win over Fordham; two of her five strikeouts accounted for the final two outs of the game with the tying and winning runs on base. Royle collected the win in relief in a 4-3 victory over SIUE, allowing just one unearned run in 1 2/3 innings.
 
In the A-10 rankings for all games, Royle is tied for second in wins (12-5), sixth in ERA (2.72), and seventh in strikeouts (96) and innings (118 1/3). She carries an 8-3 record and 2.01 ERA in conference play, tying for third in wins and ranking second in ERA.
 
SLU (28-18, 15-8 A-10) is in second place in the A-10, trailing first-place Dayton by two games. The teams meet in St. Louis May 4-5 for a three-game series that will conclude the regular season and determine the league's regular-season champion. Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game start at noon.
