Billikens Add Transfers Glanton and Triantafylli to 2024-25 Roster

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University head women's basketball coach Rebecca Tillett has announced the addition of transfers Mya Glanton and Marilena Triantafylli to its 2024-25 roster.

A 6-foot forward from East St. Louis, Ill., Glanton comes to Saint Louis after spending four years at Indiana State while Triantafylli, a 6-foot-5 center from Athens, Greece, will join the Billikens after spending her freshman season at Syracuse University.

Glanton will have one year of eligibility remaining and Triantafylli will have three.

During the 2023-24 season for Indiana State, Glanton appeared in every game for the Sycamores while making 29 starts. The East St. Louis, native put up career highs of 30 points and 18 rebounds against Southern Illinois and Murray State, respectively. She comes to the Billikens following a 2023-24 campaign where was the Sycamores' leading scorer and rebounder. She averaged 11.2 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per game and shot 51 percent from the floor

"Having coached against Mya last season and speaking to opposing coaches this season, we all agree that Mya is as difficult to prepare for as she is to play against," said Tillett. "She led her Indiana State team in scoring and rebounding. We believe her energy, enthusiasm, and skill set will all translate well in the A-10. Mya made it clear that she wants to compete for a championship and that she intends to do whatever it takes to help our program continue to rise. The desire to play in front of her family and friends while pursuing excellence with her new teammates drew her to us. She promised to increase our fan base, too."

"I choose SLU because of the atmosphere and aura I feel when I'm there. It made it feel like home," said Glanton. "The place just feels like it's where I'm supposed to be."

Triantafylli transfers to Saint Louis after appearing in six games at Syracuse. Prior to her stint with the Orange, the Athens, Greece, native played for the EFAOZ women's basketball team in the ESVA league where she averaged seven points in 21.0 minutes per game, helping the team to a 21-5 record. She also put up an averaged of 12.0 rebounds, 4.5 blocks, two assists, and one steal per game.

"Marilena brings us size and rebounding at the post position. Throughout her recruiting process, her desire to watch film and spend time in the gym with our staff to work on her game was evident. She can already articulate her vision for the impact she wants to have on the world. People with that type of forward thinking elevate the cultures they co-create."

"I committed to SLU right after visiting and feeling immediately like it was the right place for me," said Triantafylli. "The coaches, staff, and players I got the chance to meet made me feel like I belong to the SLU family by being very approachable, genuine, and helpful. The team is part of a great league that I look forward to competing in and offer whatever I can to even surpass the standard set last year. Moreover, while touring on campus and the city of Saint Louis I fell in love with the environment and the close relationships among student-athletes of the university. Finally, academics are exactly what I am looking for and the opportunities for me to improve and expand my knowledge in my science field are endless. I am really looking forward to growing as an athlete, as a student and as a person. Go Billikens!"

The Billikens are coming off a historic 2023-24 campaign which saw the program win its first-ever Women's National Invitation Tournament, defeating Minnesota 69-50 in the championship game.
