BASE Preview: Billikens Back Home Tuesday Against Southern Indiana

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University baseball (21-8, 4-2) continues its season Tuesday with a midweek contest against Southern Indiana (14-18, 4-5) at the Billiken Sports Center. First Pitch is set for 4 p.m. (CST).

QUICK HITTERS
  • Saint Louis University baseball is coming off a three-game series at Saint Joseph's over the weekend which saw the Billikens win the first game and lose their final two. 
  • SLU will host Southern Indiana Tuesday before continuing A-10 conference play Friday-Sunday when Davidson comes to town for a three-game series.
  • SLU ranks in the top-10 in scoring in the NCAA averaging 9.2 runs per game.
  • Patrick Clohisy's batting average of .455 ranks fourth in the Nation through SLU's first 29 games of the season.
  • Clohisy (37), Cole Smith (34) and Tyler Fogarty (33) all rank in the top 10 of the A-10 in RBIs in first, fourth and sixth place, respectively.
  • The Billikens had won their conference opener three out of the last five seasons defeating Saint Joseph's (2018), Fordham (2022) and UMass (2023) while dropping A-10 openers to Dayton (2019) and George Mason (2021). SLU won it's A-10 opener on March 28 against Rhode Island.

WEEKLY AWARDS

  • Four Billikens have won Atlantic 10 Conference weekly honors so far this season.
  • Hayden Moore earned the season's first accolade on Feb. 20 after an opening weekend. In 11 total at-bats, the junior outfielder tallied seven runs, six hits and blasted two homeruns
  • Patrick Clohisy followed it up and earned the distinction on March 5. 
  • In 14 total at-bats, Clohisy tallied six runs, nine hits and blasted two home runs. He also recorded six RBIs helping the Billikens to an astounding 41 total runs through their four contests. 
  • Graham Mastros was named co-Rookie of the week on March 12. 
  • In 15 total at-bats, the freshman infielder tallied five runs on six hits helping the Billikens stay undefeated through their four contests.
  • Jackson Yarberry was named Rookie of the Week on March 2, after a stand-out performance in the Billikens' sweep of Rhode Island over the weekend.
  •  The right-handed pitcher from Lake St. Louis, Mo., threw for six complete innings with six strikeouts and only one run allowed with five hits. The performance earned him his fourth win of the season.
