Billiken Baseball's Season Ends at Hands of Hawks

TYSONS, Va. - Top-seeded Saint Louis University baseball saw its season come an end in the Atlantic 10 Conference Baseball Championship, falling to the No. 7-seeded Saint Joseph's Hawks, 14-0.

The Billikens end their season with an overall record of 37-16 and an A-10 mark of 16-8 while capturing the program's sixth A-10 conference regular-season crown.

Saint Louis came into the matchup on a three-game losing skid, falling to Richmond (13-10) in its opening game of the conference championship Wednesday.

Thursday was a different story, as the Billikens' traditionally explosive bats were silenced by the Hawks and SLU only registered four hits while not plating a single run all day.

Defensively, the team gave up its most runs (14) and hits (16) in a single game during the 2024 season.

The Hawks struck early, plating their first run of the day in the bottom of the game's opening inning. From there, Saint Joe's poured on offense, scoring 12 runs in the third through fifth inning. The Billikens' Thursday opponent advances to play George Washington in the tournament's ninth game at 7 p.m. at Capital One Park.
