Gray Selected by San Francisco Giants

ST. LOUIS – The San Francisco Giants selected Saint Louis RHP Evan Gray in the 15th round (448th overall) of the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft today.
 
Gray, a Belleville, Ill. native, pitched two seasons for the Billikens after beginning his collegiate career at the University of Arkansas. At SLU, he appeared in 29 games and struck out 45 batters in 41.2 innings pitched.
 
In 2024, Gray helped the Billikens to the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title after making 19 appearances out of the bullpen. Opponents hit just .192 against him and he struck out 33 batters in 29 innings of work. Gray posted three saves and a 3.41 ERA.
 
Gray is the second Billiken to go in the MLB Draft, joining Billiken teammate Patrick Clohisy who was taken in the 11th round by the Atlanta Braves. Gray is the 16th SLU draft pick under head coach Darin Hendrickson.
