ST. LOUIS – Graduate outfielder
Tyler Fogarty of the Saint Louis University baseball team has been selected to the College Sports Communicators 2024 Academic All-America second team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Fogarty is the fifth Billiken baseball player to earn Academic All-America plaudits, joining first-teamers Ryan Bird (2006) and Ryan Bennett (2009) and third-teamers Pat Conreaux (1993) and Jeff Ray (1996).
Fogarty, who is scheduled to graduate with an MBA degree in August, carries a 3.92 grade point average. He was named to the 2024 Atlantic 10 All-Conference second team and A-10 All-Academic team, and he helped lead the Billikens to the A-10 regular-season championship.
Fogarty tied for the team lead and matched his career high with 52 starts. He led Saint Louis and ranked among the A-10 leaders with 18 doubles (third in the A-10), 130 total bases (fourth), 51 RBIs (sixth), 52 runs (seventh) and 71 hits (tied for eighth). Fogarty was second on the team with four triples (tied for second), a .616 slugging percentage (sixth), 11 home runs (tied for 11th) and a .336 batting average (12th), and he tied for second with 15 stolen bases (tied for 15th).
Fogarty recorded career highs in batting average, RBIs, hits, doubles, triples and slugging percentage.
