Addy Brus registered a match-high 21 kills and
Carlie Rodgers posted 21 digs in Saint Louis' 3-2 loss to Arkansas State Saturday afternoon in the finale of the A-State Invitational.
Brus and
Abby Lynn were selected to the eight-player All-Tournament team.

Set 1 – There were 16 ties and five lead changes in the opening frame. Neither team led by more than two points until Saint Louis went in front 17-14 with a 5-1 run. Trailing 20-19, Arkansas State scored six of the last seven points.
Set 2 – An 8-0 flurry put the Billikens on top 10-3. The Red Wolves pulled to within three points on 10 occasions, but SLU maintained command and evened the match.
Set 3 – Another early run, this time a 7-1 spurt, gave Saint Louis a 10-4 cushion. The lead was cut to three points twice, but the Billikens gradually pulled away again and closed the set with a 6-1 run.
Set 4 – Arkansas State raced to an 8-3 advantage and never allowed SLU to draw closer than three points.
Set 5 – The Red Wolves collected the first four points and led all the way, although the Billikens closed the gap and made it nip-and-tuck. Trailing 12-9, SLU scored the next two points to move to within one for a sixth time, but Arkansas State tallied three in a row to clinch the match.
Brus hit a team-high .309 (21-4-55) and added eight digs and four blocks. Lynn turned in a double-double of 43 assists and 10 digs, and
Kayla Jansen posted a match-high eight blocks as the Billikens earned a 13-7 edge in that category.
Delaney Rice and
Trinity Luckett notched 10 and nine kills, respectively, and Luckett added four blocks.
Vivian Kieffer contributed nine digs.
Saint Louis hosts Army, Illinois State and Xavier in the Billiken Invitational Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 5-7.
