Madalyn Bone Hiring

Madalyn Bone Named Billiken Softball Assistant Coach

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University softball head coach Christy Connoyer has announced the hiring of former Missouri Baptist University shortstop Madalyn Bone as an assistant coach.

Bone arrives at SLU following one year as an assistant coach at Fontbonne University. She also has served as an instructor at DTJ Sports Academy in St. Charles, Mo., head coach of the St. Louis Pirates Fastpitch Club, and assistant coach for the St. Louis Illusions Softball Association, and she initiated the De Soto feeder team for younger girls.

A native of De Soto, Mo., Bone was a five-year (2019-23) starter and two-time team captain for Missouri Baptist. She earned All-Conference plaudits three times, including a first-team nod in her final season when she posted a team-high .389 batting average and helped lead the Spartans (35-18-1 overall, 17-3 conference) to an American Midwest Conference regular-season co-championship. Bone registered a .321 career batting mark, collected 170 hits in 172 games and struck out only 20 times in 589 plate appearances.

Bone earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA with an emphasis in accounting at Missouri Baptist. She garnered Academic All-Conference honors all five years and was a three-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.

"We are excited to welcome Madalyn to our coaching staff," Connoyer said. "Her passion for the sport of softball and growing the game is evident in her experience on the field and in coaching. She is an enthusiastic teacher and is motivated to help others grow on and off the field. Madalyn will be a great addition to our Billiken family."
