SPRINGFIELD, Mo. –
Carlie Rodgers tied for match-high honors with 14 digs and
Delaney Rice had 10 kills in Saint Louis' 3-0 loss to UT Arlington Friday afternoon on day two of Missouri State's Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational.
Addy Brus added eight kills for the Billikens, who slipped to 3-5.
Trailing 18-14 in the opening set, Saint Louis went on a 7-2 run to take a 21-20 lead. The Billikens had set point at 24-23, but UT Arlington scored the final three points to take a 1-0 edge in the match.
The Mavericks established command early in the next two sets and went on to claim their eighth victory of the season against no losses.
The Billikens conclude the tournament Saturday vs. Missouri State. Match time is 1 p.m.
