Billikens Score Late in 2-2 Draw

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis got two goals from Luis Lara, including the equalizer in the 84th minute, in a 2-2 draw against Lipscomb Tuesday in non-conference men's soccer action at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.

The Billikens move to 2-2-2 overall, while Lipscomb is now 2-2-3.

Saint Louis struck first on a goal by Lara in the seventh minute. Lara and Seth Anderson came in on a break, and Anderson fed Lara for the game's first goal to make it 1-0 Billikens early.

That remained the score through halftime until the Bisons got on the board in the 50th minute. Matteo Colombo sent a ball into the box that SLU keeper Jeremi Abonnel deflected. The ball ricocheted directly to William Bryan who ran onto it, making it 1-1.

Lipscomb went on top in the 67th minute when Daniel Stampatori converted a penalty kick after Tiago Lopes was whistled for a foul in the box.

Lara recorded the late equalizer for the second time in as many games at Hermann Stadium. Max Floriani was credited with the key assist, feeding Lara in who was uncontested with the Lipscomb keeper. He finished it for the eventual 2-2 final.

The Billikens begin Atlantic 10 Conference play on Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia to take on La Salle. Game time is 6 p.m. (CT).
