Hope Kim scored her first collegiate goal in the 63rd minute and the Saint Louis defense did the rest as the 22nd-ranked Billikens began Atlantic 10 Conference play with a 1-0 victory at Massachusetts Thursday afternoon.
•SLU's third straight win improved the Billikens' overall record to 5-1-3. SLU is 5-1-1 in its last seven games. UMass, which saw its four-game winning streak and six-game unbeaten streak snapped, fell to 5-3-1.

•Saint Louis out-shot UMass 18-5 overall and 7-4 in shots on goal.
•The Billikens improved to 21-4-4 in conference openers, including 14-3-3 as an A-10 member. SLU has won its last eight league openers.
•In its final regular-season meeting with Massachusetts – UMass is joining the Mid-American Conference next year – SLU improved its series records to 12-1-3 overall and 5-1 in Amherst with a seventh straight victory over the Minutewomen.
•The Billikens extended their A-10 regular-season winning streak to eight and their A-10 regular-season unbeaten streak to 21.
