Coralville, Iowa – Saint Louis fell to South Dakota 3-1 on Saturday on the final day of the Kwik Star Klassic at the University of Iowa.

The Billikens finished the tournament 1-2 and now head into Atlantic 10 Conference play with a 5-7 overall record. South Dakota improved to 8-3 with the win.

Trinity Luckett, who was named to the All-Tournament team, led the Billikens with 15 kills, seven blocks and a .591 hitting percentage. Her 19.5 points matched a season high.
Delaney Rice had 11 kills for SLU.

Addie Lyon finished with 26 assists and nine digs.
Carlie Rodgers had 21 digs to lead the Bills, while
Addy Brus finished with 10.

Evelyn Fitz Hale posted season-highs of six kills and three blocks.

In the first set, USD was up big at 21-14 before the Billikens rallied to make it close. SLU put together runs of 4-0 and 3-0 and was within one at 22-21, but South Dakota won three of the last four points to take set one 25-22.

The Coyotes went up 2-0 with a 25-16 win in set number two. The Bills had a great response in the third set, closing out South Dakota with four straight points to win the third 25-23.

The fourth set was played about as evenly as possible. Both teams had multiple set points, but it eventually went to the Coyotes as they won the match-clinching set 30-28.

The Billikens are on the road next weekend to start conference play, playing Fordham in the Bronx, N.Y., Friday (Sept. 27) and Saturday (Sept. 28).
