Here are five facts in advance of Sunday's match against SIUE.
//Â Saint Louis leads the Bronze Boot series 23-6-3. Since the series was resumed in 2018, SLU holds a 2-1-2 advantage. SIUE captured the Bronze Boot last season with a 2-0 win at CITYPARK, the Cougars' first win against SLU since 1982.
//Â The rivalry between SLU and SIUE extends beyond just the Bronze Boot games. This will be the 41st meeting between the teams, which includes nine matchups in the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship. SIUE is the Billikens' second most played opponent, trailing only Indiana (47 meetings).
// There are several ties to SIUE on the Billikens' coaching staff. Kevin Kalish spent 14 years at SIUE on the men's soccer staff, including six as head coach. SLU assistant coach Kevin Stoll played at SIUE his senior season (for Kalish) after transferring from Illinois-Chicago.
//Â The Bronze Boot game in 1980 set the NCAA all-time attendance record, as 22,512 fans attended the match on Oct. 30 at Busch Stadium.
//Â Saint Louis is ranked No. 19 this week in both the United Soccer Coaches and Top Drawer Soccer national polls. The Bills vaulted to No. 6 after their win against Indiana despite not being ranked in the preseason.
