WHAT'S ON TAP?

  • Saint Louis concludes its two-game stay in Richmond, Virginia, when it takes on the Richmond Spiders Saturday afternoon at the Robins Center. Game time is 1:30 p.m. (CT) / 2:30 p.m. (ET).
  • Next up, the Billikens return home to face the La Salle Explorers on Wednesday night in a 7 p.m. tipoff at Chaifetz Arena.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES

  • The Billikens enter the weekend in second place in the A-10 with a 3-1 record.
  • SLU is coming off its first loss in conference play on Tuesday, a 78-62 defeat against VCU at the Siegel Center in Richmond.
  • Gibson Jimerson was named A-10 Player of the Week on Monday after his 28-point performance in the win against St. Bonaventure.
  • SLU is led in scoring by the trio of Gibson Jimerson (18.4 ppg), Isaiah Swope (18.1 ppg) and Robbie Avila (17.9 ppg). The Billikens are the only program in the country with three players averaging 17.9 or more points per game.
  • Gibson Jimerson leads the A-10 in 3s made per game (3.35), ranks second in 3FG% (.401) and is fourth in scoring (18.4 ppg). 
  • Robbie Avila has scored in double figures in each of his 14 appearances and has led the Billikens on the boards in the last two games. His 4.5 assists per game and 2.0 3-pointers made per game lead all centers in NCAA Division I this season.
  • Isaiah Swope scores 18.1 ppg (fifth in the A-10) and leads the Billikens with 5.2 assists (third in the A-10). He is one of six players in NCAA Division I averaging those numbers.
  • Kalu Anya leads the A-10 in rebounds per game (9.4).
  • Saint Louis leads the A-10 in FG% (.485), eFG% (.575) and 3s made per game (10.0). The Bills are third in the league in assists per game (15.8).
  • Head coach Josh Schertz is in his first season at SLU. His .781 winning percentage ranks No. 7 among active coaches across all three NCAA divisions.

ABOUT THE SPIDERS

  • The University of Richmond Spiders enter Saturday's game 7-11 overall and 2-3 in A-10 play.
  • Richmond opened conference play 2-0 with wins against George Washington and Massachusetts, but the Spiders have dropped their last three. They are coming off a 63-49 loss at St. Bonaventure on Wednesday night.
  • The Spiders will be without their leading scorer for the foreseeable future as Delonnie Hunt fractured his foot Jan. 8 against George Mason. Richmond's lone team captain, Hunt currently leads the Spiders in scoring (16.8 points per game), minutes (35.5 per game), assists (2.9 per game), and steals (2.2 per game).
  • Dusan Neskovic turns in 13.7 ppg, the only active Spider who scores in double figures. He scored a career-high 28 points vs. Rhode Island in the Spiders' last home game Jan. 11.
  • Jason Roche went 4-5 from three-point range and scored a team-high 12 points at St. Bonaventure Wednesday. Roche is shooting 40.5 percent from three-point range this year, fourth in the Atlantic 10 among players with at least 70 three-point attempts.
  • UR leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks 15th nationally in free throw percentage at 78.7 percent. Against D-I opponents this season, 24.0 percent of Richmond's points have come at the foul line, the 17th highest rate of any team in the nation.
  • Head coach Chris Mooney is 355-279 in 20 years at UR. He is approaching 400 career wins including stops at Arcadia and Air Force, giving him a career record of 397-318.
  • The Spiders captured the A-10 regular-season title last year, going 15-3 in league play. They lost in the first round of the A-10 Championship and went to the NIT. Richmond won the A-10 Tournament in 2022. 

SERIES HISTORY

  • Saint Louis leads the all-time series 13-11, but Richmond has won the last three.
  • The Spiders have won two in a row in games played at the Robins Center. SLU's last win here was on Jan. 11, 2020. The Bills used a massive second half, which included a 21-2 run, to pull away and post the victory. Richmond owns a 7-5 record against the Billikens on its home court.
