ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis' men's and women's cross country teams competed Friday in the Pre-National Invitational at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course at the University of Missouri.
The meet was originally scheduled for Saturday but was moved up one day due to the weather forecast in Columbia.
Clara Gillen led the Billikens in the women's 6K, finishing in a time of 21:34.6.
Emery Mayfield (21:54.5) and Emily Morden (21:59.4) were next, while Sophia Pelligreen (22:10.7) and Starr Scott (22:12.3) rounded out SLU's top-five.
On the men's side, Manny Vela paced the Billikens for the fourth time this season, as he finished first among SLU with an 8K time of 24:35.9.Â
Ronnie Brown(25:20.8) and Lukasz Iwanowski (25:27.3) were second and third for SLU, respectively. Brady Huggins (25:51.7) and Aleksandr Acuna (25:52.1) also ran in the top-five for the Billikens.
SLU returns to action Saturday, Nov. 1 for the Atlantic 10 Conference Cross Country Championships, which will be held outside of Dayton, Ohio.
