PEORIA, Ill. – Saint Louis defeated the Bradley Braves 98-77 in an exhibition game Thursday night at Carver Arena.
The teams played five 10-minute periods in the exhibition matchup.
Kellen Thames led the Billikens with 19 points and eight rebounds in the first 40 minutes.
Eight different Billikens hit 3-pointers, including Ishan Sharma who was 4-of-9 from distance en route to 16 points. Robbie Avila, Amari McCottry and Paul Otieno all had 11 points for the Bills.
SLU led 24-22 after the first period and built its lead to 51-42 after the first 20 minutes.
In the second "half," SLU stretched its lead to 20 and never looked back. The Billikens took a a 21-point advantage (98-77) into the final 10-minute period, when both teams cleared their benches.
Thursday was the Billikens' lone public exhibition game. Their regular-season and home-opener is set for Monday, Nov. 3, against Southeast Missouri at 7 p.m. at Chaifetz Arena.Â
