Billikens Close Homestand with Second Sweep of Fordham

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University closed out its four-match homestand with another sweep over Fordham, improving to 12-10 overall and 4-7 in Atlantic 10 play.
 
SET 1: Saint Louis 26, Fordham 24
The teams traded points early before Saint Louis took a 9-6 lead to force a Fordham timeout. The Billikens extended their advantage to 12-7, but the Rams battled back to tie it at 13 and later took an 18-16 lead. SLU tied the score again at 20, then rallied from a 24-23 deficit to win three straight points and claim the set. Tea Kalajdzic tallied six kills in the frame.
 
SET 2: Saint Louis 25, Fordham 21
Fordham jumped out to an 8-4 lead before the Billikens responded with seven straight points to move ahead 13-10. The Rams tied it at 13 with back-to-back aces, but SLU regained control and extended its lead to 21-16. Fordham pulled within three at 24-21 before Ellie Rink sealed the set with a solo block.
 
SET 3: Saint Louis 25, Fordham 22
The teams traded runs early, with SLU leading 11-8 before Fordham evened the score at 12 and took a 17-14 lead. The Billikens answered with a 5-1 run to go up 19-18, then extended the lead to 23-19 and closed out the match for the sweep.
